Police
were called to a report about a broken window at the Serpentine
Gallery in Bridge Street North Lismore by a member of the public out
walking this morning. A large window was found smashed at the
location.
What initially appeared to be just a smashed window
turned out to be something more sinister.
A break and enter
was suspected until a look inside the premises revealed nothing had
been disturbed. A closer look at the shards of glass in the
window display revealed an amount of blood with further blood found
on the footpath.
A
trail of blood was then found heading through the CBD possibly
leading to Lismore Base Hospital.
Police attended and took
some photos before collecting some of the blood from the scene in
evidence bags.
This incident may be linked to a report
earlier in the night involving a male who suffered a laceration to
his hand following a fight.
The Serpentine Gallery is a not
for profit organisation staffed completely by volunteers.
Police are continuing their investigation.
